1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Mealmory, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

If you obtained Mealmory through Apple’s App Store, your use is also subject to the applicable Apple Media Services terms and App Store rules. Where those terms are required to control your relationship with Apple, they continue to apply.

2. What Mealmory provides

Mealmory is a personal food diary. It lets you record dishes, meals, restaurants, visits, ratings, recipes, notes, photos, places, and related memories. Features may differ by device, operating system version, region, or purchase status.

Mealmory may change, improve, remove, or replace features over time. We may also stop supporting older operating systems when needed for security, compatibility, or product development.

3. Free features and Mealmory Plus

The core food diary is available without a paid plan: unlimited dish records and full diary history, up to two active restaurants, on-device background removal, and high-resolution card exports. Mealmory Plus unlocks unlimited active restaurants and additional digital designs. The current features and limits are shown in the app and may change as the product evolves.

Optional glass-style digital plate designs may be offered as a separate one-time in-app purchase. These are digital designs, not physical tableware.

4. Purchases, subscriptions, and lifetime access

Mealmory may offer monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions, a one-time lifetime Plus purchase, and separate one-time purchases for optional digital plate designs through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Prices, taxes, billing currency, trial eligibility, promotional pricing, and availability are displayed by the App Store and may vary by country or region.

Subscriptions

  • Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge your account for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Apple processes payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds. Mealmory does not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Your subscription remains active for the period already paid for unless Apple provides otherwise.
  • You can manage or cancel eligible subscriptions in the App Store or Apple Account subscription settings.

Lifetime purchase

A lifetime Plus purchase is a one-time, non-renewing in-app purchase. It unlocks the Plus features described at the time of purchase for the supported lifetime of Mealmory, subject to these Terms, App Store rules, technical compatibility, and continued availability of the app. It does not promise that every future product, separate app, or unrelated service will be included.

Restoring purchases

Where supported by Apple, you may restore eligible purchases using the Apple Account that originally made the purchase.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the photos, notes, recipes, ratings, and other content you add to Mealmory. You are responsible for having the rights needed to store and use that content.

Mealmory is designed to be local-first and does not operate its own server for your food-diary database. When iCloud Sync is enabled, supported data is synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure in the private database associated with your Apple Account.

iCloud Sync is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings. When you turn it off, Mealmory continues to work locally, but supported records stop syncing. Turning sync off does not delete data already stored in iCloud.

iCloud synchronization is not an independent, versioned backup service. You are responsible for maintaining access to your devices and Apple Account, keeping any independent backups you need, and understanding that synchronization and restoration depend on Apple services outside Mealmory’s control.

Deleting or reinstalling the app may not by itself delete data already stored in iCloud. Use Mealmory’s in-app data deletion controls when you intend to remove synchronized app data, and review the Privacy Policy for more detail.

6. Photos, location, maps, and third-party services

Some features rely on Apple frameworks or external apps and services. For example, Mealmory may use Apple Maps for place search, Apple services for location, StoreKit for purchases, CloudKit for sync, and may open navigation in supported map applications such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Amap when you choose.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Their availability, results, routing, map data, pricing, or service quality are outside Mealmory’s control.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Mealmory for lawful personal purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with the app’s operation, bypass purchase controls, reverse engineer protected portions except where applicable law expressly permits it, misuse third-party services accessed through the app, or use Mealmory in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

8. Intellectual property

Mealmory, its interface, illustrations, design system, branding, source code, and other app materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not transfer ownership of Mealmory’s intellectual property to you.

9. Updates and availability

We may release updates that fix bugs, improve performance, modify features, or adapt to changes in Apple platforms and services. Some updates may be required for continued compatibility or synchronization. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of every feature.

10. Disclaimers

Mealmory is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. It is a food diary and organization tool, not a medical, nutritional, food-safety, or professional advisory service. Ratings, notes, recipes, locations, and other content in your diary are for your own reference.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mealmory disclaims implied warranties that cannot legally be required, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mealmory will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business arising from your use of the app. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

12. Suspension or termination

You may stop using Mealmory at any time. We may restrict access to features where reasonably necessary to protect the app, comply with law, respond to misuse, or address security or platform requirements. Paid entitlements remain subject to applicable App Store purchase rules and mandatory consumer protections.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app, legal requirements, or supporting services change. The “Last updated” date above will be revised when material changes are published. If a change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it in an appropriate way.

14. Governing terms and local rights

These Terms are intended to operate alongside mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be waived. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
